Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?

I have been inspired by multiple women in my life. My first inspiration comes from mothers! While my mother taught me how to deal with adversities and emerge stronger, my best friend’s mother taught me how to balance priorities and still be the best in your chosen field. One of my ex-managers (Dhanashree Kulkarni) taught me how to stand for my values even in challenging times.

Professionally, I am inspired by Leena Nair (CHRO, Unilever). Her purpose of “igniting human spark to build a better business and better world” resonates with how I see my role.

Why does inclusion matter to you?

At a personal level, inclusion to me is about making everyone feel valued. It is about building a culture where a mix of people can work together and confidently be themselves. I see it as an opportunity to show that I care and respect everyone’s individuality. As far as businesses are concerned, there is enough research that proves, employees who feel included are positively engaged with the organisation and contribute actively to productivity, innovation and revenue growth.

Hence, for me, inclusion is important from both heart and mind point of view!

How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?

I realise that inclusion has a lot to do with ‘self-image’ and feel this gets established at a very early age. In my personal space, I work with kids through stories that allow them to explore their individuality and accept the differences.

For a woman to achieve her ambition, it is important for the overall eco-system of the organisation to be aligned with a vision to provide equal opportunities to everyone. Professionally, I am blessed with the role I perform. It allows me to slowly but steadily impact the organisation’s culture at large through learning interventions and mindset conversations.
