Who is a female inspiration/role model to you, and why?

An inspiring female role model for me is my mother and grandmother. The good old saying “Home is your first school” was true for me, as that was the place where I learnt all life lessons – being humble, collaborative, fight for the cause, determination, conviction, embrace changes and much more. Although both were not fortunate enough to have more than two-three years of schooling, they had an excellent understanding of life and were great women. Besides them, I had impressive female teachers in my school. It was a perfect combination of home and school with these inspiring women around me. And this helped me a lot professionally.

Why does inclusion matter to you?

At the beginning of my carrier, I was an accountant and experienced gender bias in all aspects – hiring, training, promotions and so on. That discrimination converted me into a firm believer of co-existence, co-creation. Everyone should be valued.

Inclusion matters a lot to me. Our profession calls for interaction with diversified groups and people at various positions – right from a cleaner to a manager. Such varied interactions strengthen and enhance our relationships, knowledge andlearnings. I strongly believe in nourishing this culture by building inclusion in the team.
