Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
Different people inspire you at different stages of your life. Throughout my life journey, my mother has been my inspiration and role model. She always inspired me to ‘never give up’ and strive for excellence with grit, determination and perseverance.
Ruth Bader (Former Justice of Supreme Court of United States) is another person I admire. Her work and passion for Gender Equality and Women Rights always inspire me to challenge the status quo and do the right thing.
It is all about what you believe in, and then go for it to make an impact.
Why does inclusion matter to you?
Inclusion is very close to my heart. I strongly believe that it is not a choice – it is the right thing to do. All countries, societies and organisations must continue to build an inclusive culture by creating an environment in which people feel comfortable to share their views and feel valued. Inclusion brings belongingness and encourages a higher level of engagement.
Building an inclusive culture is a necessity for humanity and should be nurtured as we progress in different phases of life. By creating an inclusive culture, we can bring out the best in each one of us for a better tomorrow.
Inclusion also drives mental wellbeing, which is so relevant in our world today. I believe when leaders show humility, curiosity, empathy and build a culture of listening, they build teams, which are more engaged and better performing.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
The essence of building a strong team lies in supporting and encouraging each other. We at JLL strongly believe in Achieving Ambitions. I consider myself fortunate to be part of such an amazing organisation, which provides innumerable opportunities to build expertise and is a perfect launchpad for professional growth.
As a woman professional, I make the most of every opportunity to coach and mentor women, enabling them to reach their highest potential. As leaders, we always thrive on building an environment where every employee can dream and achieve their goals.
